Finally!

I received approval to show a product I've been contract designing for the last six months.

A little history:
A well known fire arms manufacturer (cannot disclose yet) contacted me thru a fellow cpfer to see if I was interested in throwing ideas for a radically new flashlight device to be used by law enforcement, can you imagine my excitement?
Right away they fedexed me a bunch of paperwork, the bulk of the package was a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) anyway, what they wanted is a device capable of replacing stun grenades and also serve as a stroboscopic disorienting device and of course to illuminate large areas properly.
Also in their requirements was the need to be operable single handed so it must be lightweight.

With all these premises at hand, to the CAD I went, here are the final drawings:

And here are the specs to make you all drool:

31x Cree MCE overdriven to 4A each (1432lumens)
31x custom 30mm reflectors (5 degrees tight spot) (AR coated Saphire glass protective lenses)
Custom current regulated drivers with extensive thermal management for each individual LED
Watercooled copper core with extensive use of heat pipes
Carbon Fiber Shell
Custom external battery pack, mounted on an ergonomically designed backpack. The backpack also carries the external cooling.

Are you ready for the total lumen output? near 45000 lumens in a sphere of less than 8" diameter

The unit will be sold to law enforcements only, but a civilian unit is being considered and may be released before years end. I was promised pre-production units photos in a few weeks

Hope you all like it, Im proud of my work.

Only 45K lumens? I thought you said this thing was supposed to be bright? ;)

:takeit: :paypal:

I really wish. :D
Literally the sun in the palm of your hands.
There must be a delay switch or the thrower might get blinded himself. :duh2:

Wha...!!!

Great work Pablo...!!

I`d like to see a movie of this in action....

LOL! :D

We demand beamshots!!!!!! I like the way it holds in the hand, just twist the hand and you have disco lights! Cool!:nana:

Then you'd have a light that Blade 2 the movie recommends! Straight baller, son!

6 small aspheric lenses, 6 wc tint crees, and 2 tri flupics, 2 IMR 16340's

set the flupics to UI5 tactical..strobe..

sit back and enjoy the show.

:twothumbs

a small mechanical timer with a knob would rock. rip apart a 2 minute egg timer for the timer guts.
click-click-click-click...:poof:
