Hi, I am a parking ticket writer. I use a maglight that does me no good.

I work on a college campus and we match Lic Plate with a Permit located in the rearview mirror. When I am in the parking garage I need to match the permit w/ the plate.

I need a better light to luminate the permit with is about 5 to 7 feet away.

My price range is under $50.00.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gary

What kind of batteries?
What size?
What beam pattern?
Runtime?

I'm guessing a medium beam pattern, AA batteries, and good runtime?

:welcome:

Probably want something with a narrow beam (big, deep reflector) since you're lighting up dark holes in a moderately bright setting.

What do you use now?

What do you love and hate about it?

Can you wait for Black Friday at Home Depot to buy a new Maglite Rebel for $15? That's a lot of bang/buck.

What do you use now?
I use a rechargeable older model maglight

What do you love and hate about it?
Not bright

What kind of batteries?
Not sure, it is given to me by the dept. They take care of making sure it is recharged.

What size?
18" maybe right around there

What beam pattern?
White light

Runtime?
I need a runtime of 8 hours

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Someone told me a red light would work, but that does not make sense to me because I will be in some daylight.

Since the Maglite on spot mode doesn't have an intense enough beam for your application, it sounds like you need something quite powerful and with a long runtime. Get the Dorcy 220 lumen LED rechargeable flashlight; it will be many times brighter and more powerful than your Maglite.
