Flashlight Lenses

Did a little search and couldn't find a guide to the different types of lenses used in flashlights.
If there is one do point out the thread to me and mods please close this thread.
But if there isn't, does anyone know any good guides or references?
Maybe even a compilation of the different lenses used by the different manufacturers?

Sapphire, UCL, Borofloat, Pyrex, Lexan/polycarbonate are common ones... what do you want to know?

Just some sort of general reading on lenses.
I guess i'll have to search individually.
