Flashlights & sneezing??

Does anyone else have photic sneeze reflex?

Whenever I have a sneeze thats "stuck" and can't come out, I blast myself in the face with my flashlight and it pops right out. Happens a lot this time of year.

My wife sneezes every time she walks outside into the sun from indoors.

Indoors to outdoors on a bright day, happens every time to me. It's a fairly common reaction with people.

BTW, i've always wondered why:

when i stick a Q-tip swab into my ear,

i very soon begin to Cough.

Often, quite severely !

This used to happen to me a lot when I was a little kid. Don't remember it ever happening again.

I don't seem to have that reflex. I didn't do it when I walked outside at all and it didn't happen when I blinded myself just now with my H30.

Wow, I just got done cleaning mine and I do the same thing. Now I don't feel so weird. Gotta try the sneeze thing sometime.

I've noticed it all my life.

I think the Wiki article's Mechanism section was a bit of a reach. It makes much more sense to me that the Photic Sneeze Reflex is just nature's way of telling idiots who don't know any better that they shouldn't stare at the sun...kinda like the clever way we wound up with nerve cells on our feet...to discourage us from stepping on pointy things...
