An FM bi-pin for MN + WA1111 is an option for the SureFire M900A. Anyone use this setup on a shotgun? If so, did the bulb pins loosen and dislodge over use?

You're joking, right?

The filament will break even if the friction fit holds the pins, which it won't. Why in the world would you consider doing such a thing when it's your life potentially at stake?

Pony up the dough for a known-reliable solution. Your life is worth it.

(On the other hand, if you want cheap + reliable, buy two Photon microlights, and use outdoor double-stick foam tape to attach them to the stock or pump handle. Squeeze them as needed to light up the area. Works fine indoors.)

Merely to examine alternative options. As far as actual self-defense use, the M900A will be used with standard SureFire lamp assemblies (known reliable solution).

I guess I should actually answer your question. I have not tried it.

But... I've dropped hotwire mags a couple of times and had the filament break (light was on). I've also had them come out of a non-abused Kiu socket, both from being dropped, and just being handled roughly (rolling around in a trunk, for example).

So I figure it's got to be very unreliable on a gun. But if someone knows I am wrong about this, please speak up!

I mounted the surefire m-4 on the 11 inch m-4 in my take home squad. I thought about using the bipin holder/conversion on it then worried about the bulb popping out into the turbo head from rough usage. I'll stick with the surefire bulb until a better bulb holding solutions appears. Any incan
bulb will frag itself when dropped. We used to cringe when our SL-20's would bounce off of the pavement when they first came out. :poof:
Some of the guys mounted TL-3's on their long guns and every once in awhile they ask me to fish em out and plug em back in. I think a Kiu type holder would work as it grabs the legs of the bi-pin.
