Just got two brass FM bipins for my two Mag85 hosts. One is an older red 3D, one a new pewter 3D. The adaptors both fit in the newer host, but don't in the older one, even though visually they look very similar. Did Mag change the size of the PR base holder at some point? I've PM'd FM and I'm sure I'll hear from him but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

In answering my own question, this is FM's response. I'm posting it because I think people should know that if they have an older host they may have to change out the switch:

"These sockets are desined to fit tight in new M*g socket for best current transfer.
Some older switches are slightly narrow and will cause this problem.
I suggest to replace the switch (with new style) to solve this problem and get best performance."

If you want some replacement Mag PR bulb holders, let me know. I have a ton left over from doing bunches of Kiu kit assemblies. Just PM me your address.

Hmmm, My 3D is well over 15 years old. I bet I have the old style as well. :(

Might just have to break down and buy a new host. Unless the bulb holder DonShock mentioned would straighten everything back out

You can also enlarge the opening with a small sanding drum on a dremel tool or if you have access to a small lathe you can have it bored open a bit.
