This torch had been neglected for so long, I had forgotten all about it. And then, there it was, hiding at the
bottom of a box .... what luck I found it again.

Usually I prefer to make rather than mod but ... looks like it might take a DX Cree drop-in. Lets see ...
Remove bezel, take out lamp/reflector module, try Cree module ...
YES it'll go in ... what joy. Full blown XR-E brightness.

Elegant styling - no drab black or HA natural here. AND it runs on 2 x AA cells.





I know you're dying to see it, so here it is ....

Anti-shock armouring and unbreakable lens. :wow:

Anti-roll feature and ultra clear switching indicator

Lanyard attachment.

Just look at the gloss of that finish.

And it's so much easier to carry than some dimmer lights.:nana:



I must say too, that the photographs really do it justice
The trouble is that this is not really a mod - just a simple module swap ...

To answer the last couple of posts ....

This particular light came from a child's Christmas stocking. (Santa is due to visit soon btw). The recipient was quick to appreciate its virtues and cleverly hid it under some rubbish in a junk box to keep it safe.

Well ... rustanium. Surprising as it may be, this light has not matured over several years like a fine wine.
Metals of this quality have a natural affinity for rustanium and can acquire this degree of finish almost in the blink of an eye.
