Yesterday I bought a streamlight microstream at a local store for 10.00. Its actually my first better flashlight. So as soon as it got dark we turned off all the house lights and started playing with it. My mom and sister were visiting. My mom always carries a flashlight (mostly for reading-it has about 3 lumens) and soon had hers out. It didn't take long for my four children to each get out their own flashlights. We wound up going into the front yard with all these flashlights (leaving all the house lights off). After about five minutes outside a big electric company truck pulled up wanting to know if we were the ones with the power outage. Umm, nope not us. The man looked at my dark house, all of us with flashlights and gave us a funny look. The first truck was soon joined by two more. Friends that live at the end of the street came down because they thought the truck in front of my house was an ambulance. That got us a fifth child who soon got a flashlight too. Then his mom says she has a flashlight on her keys and tries to get it to come on and stay on but its a squeeze light only. By this time my oldest daughter had gone back in and gotten her glow stick/flashlight so she now had two lights. So here we were 10 people with about 10 flashlights.the children were all running and yelling. Playing flashlight tag, hide and seek and whatever else children can think of to play at 9:30pm when they all of flashlights and freedom.;-) The electric company men were still searching for the source of the power outage. The neighbor from across the street comes out (minus a flashlight)to see what's going on. Apparently the utility trucks lights were hitting right on his bedroom window and woke him up. It all made for a rather interesting experience and fun with flashlights.
