The G2L can give you high tactical output levels with a P61, or Q5 assembly.

The numbers are misleading. The3 G2l doesn't emit 80 nlumens for 12 hours. It drops pretty quickly to 60 lumens. I suspect the G3L has a much longer time at 80 lumens.
If you need strictly an LED solution, you need to balance your need for brightness against your need for runtime at the rated brightness.
The bottom line with these two lights is this. The G3L will produce the rated brightness for a longer period of time than the G2L.
So if you want it bright for longer then go for the G3L.
If you want trubo level brightness and don't care about runtime then get a Malkoff M60 unit. It rocks.

Is there a Q5 drop-in for G2 L ?? I tried searching but it gave me nothing about dropins :ironic:

It is both long and wide enough, yes.
