G2L with flat black-finish head at Lowes??? Energizer Hardcase Cree XRE too!

I was in Lowes today and of course I swing by the flashlights as any good flashoholic would. I could swear the G2Ls' they were carrying had a flat finish on the head. I was trying my best to get a good look in the package to be sure but it definetly seemed that way! Anyone have any info on this? No I didn't buy it, too expensive in there.

Also there was this Energizer Hardcase 2xAAA that had a Cree XRE in it! Anyone have one of these?

cool.. all my local stores only have the 3-Nichia 2AAA version... not the Cree one.

The G2L has a "flat finish" because they switched from the Nitrolon head, to an aluminum head to help with heat dissipation. If you find any "old stock" nitrolon heads, SureFire will send you an aluminum head for free from what has been posted on here.

The Energizer 2xAAA with the Cree ("Inspection Light") is OK, but it not a P5. Do a search and you'll find many posts/reviews on both.

I got my G2L at Lowes. They also carry Surefire batteries.
