Garrity 2D SS host, worth modding?

Local surplus store has LOTS of Garrity Stainless Steel 2D lights, anyone familiar w/ this light? Just wondering if it would make a decent M@G-clone for a 18650 based LED or hot-wire.
I suppose for $10 investment I could go the ROP route...
