Anyone else like these? I find them very useful for around the house use with various drop ins.

It's not that the rubber just protects the light to me; it's that the rubber protects whatever you're dropping a heavy aluminum light ON that appeals more.

Opinions?

Since learning of the bicycle inner tube rubber technique from Sub_umbra and company, I've applied this to Maglites with good effect!
I agree that if you've got tile floors, or nice wood floors, you don't want to drop a heavy big aluminum light on there and mar the surface etc., And also, to reduce the noise of such a drop accident. So, just about any light can be given a rubber armor with various grades of bicycle inner tube...

I've got one of those 2D black rubber Garrity Tuff lights that I run with 6aa rechargeables and a frosted 5 cell mag bulb. Very bright wall of light! I reach for it everytime I need to light up a large area.
