Ok, so I was searching the web for some info to explain to my buddy the difference in lux, lumens and footcandles and I found this site. I have had a thing for flashlights for a loooong time. I have several Surefires and 2 Fenix TK11 R2's and some other misc LED lights that I 'thought' were bad ***. I 'thought' I had a pretty good collection of powerful lights until I started lurking on candlepowerforums!

So because I have what my wife calls a 'serious flashlight problem', in just 2 hours I had already begun ordering parts haphazardly to put together my first light! Of course, I have not researched nearly enough because there is so much info on this site, some of the tech is above my head and some of the lingo and acronyms are like huh?

So I'm hoping to throw at least 500 lumens 'out the front' and I'm not really sure what kind of run time I'm looking at.

I have coming:

1 FM 2.5" Throwmaster head
6 AW 18650 protected 2600mAh Lithium
1 2C M@glite for a host light (why do you guys put the asterisk in there?)
3 sets of ROP54's
1 AW 3.7volt lithium battery adapter for C M@glite

I'm currently using Conte's post 'Hotwire How-To: The ROP and the Mag 11' as my guide. Am I missing anything guys?

Thanks for helping out yet another newb.

:welcome: Looks like you got a great start there! I dont know about runtime with the 18650's, but i know im running 2 26500's in my 2 C and runtime is great. I think you'll be greatly pleased with it's output, especially if you use the 3854 Hi, the low does good too but i love the Hi! :naughty:

And one other thing you might want to consider for your build is Download's Mag c tower, its a drop in part that will keep your stock tower from melting down when used for those 10+ minutes runs. I have one in mine, great part, and drop in fit. Link is here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2069029

You should pick up a Fivemega Wide/Deep tailcap for C mags. This will allow you to run 2x18650s in your 2C maglite without any other modifications. I have two, and they're well worth the money.

I'm not sure what the AW battery adaptor is, or what it does, so it might duplicate the functionality of the Fivemega tailcap.

Other than that, you're good to go!

If you're wife thinks you have a "serious flashlight problem" now, wait another 6 months!
