Ge Jasco Hybrid LED / Fluorescent Steel Beam Question...

Haven't seen that one anywhere. But I did just pickup a silver colored Steelbeam at costco for 14 bucks, the one without the leds. With it's warm color output, I think it's a great lantern.

Some have pointed out that the bulb isn't replaceable. However, all fluoros are rated in the thousands of hours, so I don't see this as an issue at this price point (a replacement is likely to cost half as much or more as the whole lantern).

Are you certain that the tube cant be replaced?
Here in the UK I have several OSRAM flourescent lanterns which I suspect to be the same product. The lamps in these can be replaced by turning the top cover anti-clockwise, quite firmly. The lamp then pulls out, it is a compact floursecent , 7 watt, 4 pin.
