I was wondering which of those 2 is throwing better ?
I suspect the throw - and beam - should be very similar yet...
Which one should I choose if I were to pay 20$ for one of them ? The versatility of OMNIVORE won't matter too much for me...unless it's throwing considerably better with one CR123...
Is the FIRECRACKER slimmer and has the OMNIVORE a wider tube ?

I looked up these stats for the OP. The Firecracker seems preferable to me.
Performance statistics for Gerber Omnivore:
• with AAA alkaline - runtime of up to 4 hours, 10 lumens
• with AA alkaline - runtime of up to 5.5 hours, 12 lumens
• with CR123A lithium - runtime of up to 5 hours, 18 lumens

Features of Gerber Firecracker LED Flashlight:
• 0.7 watt LED, 18 lumens
• powered by a single AA alkaline battery, included
• runs for up to 7 hours
I like my little firecracker a lot, but have never considered buying the omnivore version. Where's the need?

I do not have the Firecracker but I do have the GERBER Omnivore and I can tell you the beam is really nothing to write about, it reminds me of alot of the older LED lights that first came out with optics to improve their low output. The Omnivore is big and not very handy to EDC, the only reason I picked it up was the multi battery configuration, not something I would recommend to anyone. It's kind of like a dinosaur (and we all know what happen to them)

The firecracker is not very bright, but it does have a nice tight beam and a fancy optic. For the user who needs an inexpensive light like this it's a good option. Not everyone needs a light to blind people. In fact, everyone needs a light that won't blind people.

I wasn't very impressed with the Omnivore. The multi-battery design is a great idea, but Gerber's implementation of the switch (small and mushy) and LED (dim) leaves a lot to be desired.
