Ok I am wanting to get some pelican cases for my lights not for any particular reason just because. I am going to be purchasing an M6 and would like a nice bed for it to sleep in along with a nice amount of batteries and the extra bulb.....Any ideas which would be good for this and pics would be appreciated....

I am also wanting one for just batteries and another for my other lights that I dont carry U2, K2 Kroma, E2D, G3, E1E, L1 adn various bulbs etc

I am not really wanting a huge case I want smaller then laptop size case....

Pics would be great along with opinions on the foam the pick n pluck vs. the regular..... Thanks

I've got at least nine or ten Pelican cases around her of different sizes. I've always found the best thing to do for buying a new one is to lay everything out like I would want it in the Pelican case, take measurements for height, width, and depth of the items as laid out, and then go to one of the many different websites that list all of the dimensions for the different Pelican cases, and pick the one with the internal dimensions that suits your need.

Not sure what you mean by the pick n pluck foam vs the "regular". All of the ones I've bought either came with the PnP foam, or I ordered them with nothing at all in to save a few dollars. I'd recommend getting the PnP foam and maybe a spare set of foam for the case too, just in case you mess the first one up or want to have two different arrangements/options for the case.

I thought there was an option for foam that was not pre cut for you. I hope the pnp foam wont make it look very sloppy I want it to work well and be functional. Not looking to really stuff the cases. Thanks

Hello 97,

I use a Pelican case for my car light kit. I placed my own cut foam in the case to hold everything securely. This is the 1020 case but of coarse for the M6 you will need a bigger case. The 1020 holds my E2e, extra bulb, and 4 spare batteries perfectly.

If you have an REI outdoors store in your area, they carry all the Pelican cases, and the smaller ones aren't boxed so you can thoroughly look them over.

Pelican cases comes in many sizes. M6 is quite a chunky light so getting the right one is crucial. Best is bringing along your light and tryout at the shop.

I know you're looking for pelican cases, but how about a surplus 30 or 50 cal ammo can?

Take a look at the internal dimensions of the case you want first in Pelicans page so you can make the right pick for fitting the Items you want. There are also other hard case manufacturers like S3extreem[used to be OTTERBOX], Stormcase..etc. IMO Pelican isnt neccesarily the
crem de la crem when it comes to boxes.

Checked Otterbox website.

Can't see anyplace where they mention any name-change. :candle:

Are these supposed to be as good (or better) than Pelican cases ?

Sorry I wasnt clear. Otterbox used to carry a full line of hard cases.
Now they carry the smaller ones only. The larger sizes their mould or dies
is owned by a company now named S3 which separated from OTTERBOX
Time and time again if you might find an original Otterbox branded model.
and are considered discontinued. However you will find the same model
case now with the S3 Extreem logo. Original Otterboxes were of hard ABS, now S3 makes them with their own ABS blend. I personaly prefer their ABS materials than what Pelican uses now which is polyethelene?
kinda like the one used for trashcans:(

http://www.fuertecases.com/ Check these out I got em for my Glock.

If you look at the S3 cases some will recognize them as original larger Otterbox models. I kinda fancy the older Otterboxes though they feel brittle, non of mine ever broke despite falls. Fun to wax em too.
The S3 's are not as hard per their new blend but not as soft as Pelican's
I aint mocking Pelican as I have 6 in diffrent sizes 3 S3's 5 OTTERs. 2 SKBs [yes the 1980s model } which is a weapon itself:naughty:
