We are teaching our 20 month old to throw things away and not make a mess. Well last night before I went to sleep I noticed there was a weird glow in the garbage can. Either my food wrappers have reached critical mass, or something was in there..

Sure enough our baby tossed my McClux PD in the garbage and it sank to the bottom due to the substantial weight. Fortunately like all children of flashaholics, she had the good sense to turn it on first. Thanks to the brightness and long life on low mode, I saw it, otherwise my McClux would have been sitting in a landfill.

The McClux is now on a higher shelf. :)

That was a close one!

LOL My daughter did the same thing with one of my Surefires! The only way I found out was when I later noticed the light missing and asked everyone if they'd seen it. My daughter laughed and showed me where she'd put it away.

Whew!

Wow, good catch, you must be living right.....

My little ones are flashaholics a well. (with sticky fingers)

I will have to put a monitor on the garbage can..

kids are really good at turning on flashlights :) My 2 year old son can turn on every flashlight I own. It only takes him a few seconds to find a clicky or a screw top or whatever it happens to be.

It's the turning them off before setting them down and walking away (or tossing them in the can ;) ) that seems to elude them. In this case though that was all for the best!

Can I post this here?

hahaha, that is some nice wastebasket! Never seen it on this side of the big pond though!

I like it, I like it!

Good thing you did manage to rescue your McLux, Creampuff!

COOL !!! This thing will glow even longer if "charged" by a UV light -source !
