and it has a problem. It's a brand new POB, but it won't fire up. I charged the battery until the led turned to green, and checked the power meter lights afterwards, all before I tried it the first time. All I get is a short flash of light and then nothing. Pulled the battery to check the connections - no problem there. Should I go any further, or would it be better to return it to the vendor?
I read that there was someone else on the forum who had the same problem, but I can't find the thread where he shared his solution. Did a search of about ten pages on Google, but couldn't turn up the thread.
HELP!!, please.

This happened to me with my POB. All of a sudden my POB had the same problem as yours where it wouldn't turn on.
Mine had a defective battery, and I just so happened to have another light with the exact same battery, so I took the battery out of my other light and installed it in the POB, and the POB worked perfectly.

Your POB most likely has a defective battery. There is always the possibility that something else could be wrong with it, so I recommend you return it to the vendor and get a new one.
If you want to try replacing the battery, it uses a standard 12 volt 7AH sealed lead acid battery, which you can buy online pretty cheap.

Re: Got my first HID today - UPDATE!! Good News!!

Got frustrated and went to bed. When I woke up this morning, I tried the POB again, this time in a darkened room. With a push of the switch, the bulb flashes, like a camera flash, and then starts to pop and crackle with the bulb trying to fire up. I think I may have either a bad bulb, or more likely, a bad ballast. Anybody else's acted the same way?
Irregardless, I'll contact the seller and see what they can do for me. Thanks!

Contacted the seller and he is sending a UPS pickup for the broken light and will send me a new one. He is going to check the new one, before shipment, to make sure it works. Couldn't ask for a better transaction. :twothumbs

That's great news!
My POB did the exact same thing you described when its defective battery was going dead, even though I had fully charged it before use. It got to the point where it wouldn't even flicker and wouldn't even take a charge as the battery was completely dead.

Congratulations on getting a POB, and I know you will reall enjoy it as it's an amazing light.

You might also want to check the connections on the battery. Make sure they are fully pluged into the battery terminal. One of my plugs was not even connected when I received it.
