Anyone ever use this device: Bushnell BackTrack? How reliable is it? Does it work well in heavy canopy? Your thoughts? Do you use other GPS devices on hikes?

Does it help with finding your car in a parking lot, or do you just wander for a bit longer to find it?

Hey, I brought the Backtrack with me this summer when I went camping. It worked great, although it's/mine? was not super accurate. It would bring me back to my campsite, but it would be around 10-20 metres off from exact spot i locked into. I think that is part of the GPS and it's error "allowance"? I don't know how to better put it. But if you follow it until it turns zero and look around, you'll see your camp. The only thing I didn't like was that it tell you which direction to go, with no heed to trails etc. You'll have to either go through the bush, or navigate trails approximately until you get closer. Because of the 10-20 meter difference mentioned before, you could use it to find a car in parking, cept when you get their, you might have to put on the "intruder alarm" thing just to narrow it in u know? I haven't tried other trail GPS's to compare, sorry.

Thank-you for the input. I am still trying to decide whether to get that or a mapping handheld like the Garmin Venture or the Legend.
