Hey all.

I am wondering if there is any possible gain in putting an incandescent bulb in a TIR lens light?

I would think at least, that this would give a lot of throw.


Anyone know about that?

Of course, you gain the wonderful smell of burning plastic.

The Optic would have to be specially designed for an incandescent lamp and would have to be able to handle the heat.

Cheaper and easier to use a reflector.

the hotspot will look like a filament unlike LED's which are square.
