HDS, A2 and A19 bezel ring TPI

I have a question I was hoping to clarify regarding the TPI on the HDS, A2 and A19 lights. I can't find a definitive answer on what it is. By what I can tell the A2 and A19 I have are 28TPI. There are some that say it's 32TPI. Does anyone know for sure what it really is supposed to be?

The Bezels I made time ago were 28TPI according to the blueprints I just checked, I don't recall any last minute changes...

If you don't have one already get yourself a thread pitch gage, it really helps

Yes, I checked with a pitch gauge and thought they were 28 but TB swears up and down they're 32tpi, at least the HDS. I asked one of CPF's well respected machinists but never got an answer. :shrug:

Very true when trying to measure the bezel. Measuring the threads on various heads I have I'm 100% confident it is 28tpi. The body threads on a HDS is 32tpi.

Wait, hasn't Brian made Ti A19 heads? If you did, you should know? :thinking:

Maybe TB is thinking about A1 heads? The A1 size head that I have by TB is 32tpi.

Yes, I made A19 heads but I made the bezels for them too. When making a head without a bezel recently for someone is when I ran into the problem trying to get a stock ring to fit. Thing is Pablo's ring fits in a 32TPI thread albeit it's a loose fit.

The bezel threads on 27mm and 28mm heads are 32tpi.

Ah, no problem measuring thread pitch on 2 threads, just buy an optical comparator (Actually, I know a guy who got one at an auction for like $50 - stole that, eh?)

For the record, I agree...

The bezel threads for the Arc 4+, HDS, Novatac, Aleph are all 28 TPI, 15/16-28
