headlamps in the UK

Since browsing these forums, it's clear to me that many (most) users are in the US, and seem to have a fantastic choice of products available.

I am looking for something like the rayovac 1aa (or anything up to 4aa) but available in the UK - inexpensive and up to about £15 (thats 30usd).

I have just bought a FENIX L2D CE Q5 hand torch, so this headlamp is for night navigation in the countryside and is going to be left on for about 2-3 hours per time. Preferable power source is nimh AA's.

Have you checked the many places referred to in the UK Members' thread in the Cafe? Look at Posts 40 and 41 in particular and may be raise a question in that forum and I am sure someone will be able to help you.

Plenty of us here in the Uk, but I think most like me either have tastes a bit more expensive than that (I'm an Eos modder) or do homebrew stuff (I also have a homemade quad Cree headtorch) - so sorry I can't help with lights that cheap, but can probably help with sourcing other things!

Well I did find a headlamp on ebay that looks identical to the dealextreme one thats been floating around (8LED's for $6) but costs £7.50 delivered (thats around $16) - typical british prices!

Think i'll go for that cheap one and when i find that i'm dissatisfied i'll ask about your quad cree!!

^dont forget that DX is free shipping to the UK. (i think i am reading your post wrong, but it looked like you were complaing that you had to pay more for the headlight on ebay)

I never even considered the possiblity that I could order from DX, being in the UK. This is a big success!

update: the exchange rate is comedy! I ordered 2 of the headlamps for £5 GBP delivered!
