Rob, my only guess on length of run is "months" which isn't much help. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The blinking is via a tiny IC built right into the base of the LED head - just cast right into the plastic below the LED itself.
On the last one I had the power provided partly determined the rate of flash. Lower voltages/currents appeared to flash slower ... also dimmer, of course.
You're pretty much with the flash rate you have.
