I'm looking for a 4 x CR123 light. The light itself, I'm looking for something bright, something that can run off 4 x CR123 instead of 2 x 18650 because I already have a whole bunch of rechargeable 3.0v 123 that I'm not using.

The cost of the light would be around $50 as I won't be using this light much and it's going to be there in case of emergency like bumps in the night where I need to check out the back yeard for noise and need something bright.

I have been to DX and spot a few of them but they all seem to like to use 2 x 18650.

Any advice on which one is a good light to get? Thanks.

yeah, unfortunately :D cannot recall seeing any DX/KD/budget light that takes 4xCR123s though.

Here is a few of them:

SKU 19372 - $25 - SacredFire NF-009 Cree Q2-WC 160-Lumen LED Flashlight
SKU 10452 - $50 - Romisen RC-T5 4-Cree 3-Mode LED Flashlight with Holster
SKU 16502 - $54 - UltraFire WF-600L 3*Cree Q5-WC 3-LED 3-Mode 600-Lumen Flashlight
SKU 15685 - $60 - Romisen RC-T6 6*Cree Q4-WC 3-Mode 500-Lumen Mega LED

4x 123 light under $50 is tough to look. How about a 2x 123 light? EagleTac P100C2 can be bright enough for those bumps in the night. Easy UI operation, tighten (220 lumens) and loosen (55 lumens).

Ok, I was thinking abt Fenix, Jetbeam, Olight, EagleTac, along those brands. But I hear the Romisens are okay. Hope more will be able to help you.

Solarforce are making some great stuff these days. You could get a L2, with 18650 extender. This would hold 4xCR123. Then get the XP-G R5 P60 drop-in from DX. It'll take up to 18V input. Should handle the 4xCR123's nicely, and you get 320 Lumens! The whole lot should set you back around $50

As some other options have already be shown, just a bit of advice:

You might be very disappointed be the performance / runtime of such a light.

Energy density of LiFe rcr123 is so low that all 4 of those cells with have noticeably less runtime than a single 18650.
(not that you spend money on a light that you wont find useful afterwards...)
