I am trying to find the thread types on the tail and head of the surefire 6P lights. I suppose I would like to know the bezel threads in the head.

I do not have any thread gages, so the closest I could guess using a set of calipers and my Machinerys Handbook is 7/8-24 on the tail and 1-24 on the head end.

If someone could confirm this, I would be very grateful.

Also, is there anybody here set up to machine a 6P clone?

I have an interesting project in mind, and would rather work with a forum member that is already set with the correct taps and dies or can single point cut threads on a lathe, instead of searching out a local machine shop.

If so, Please PM me.

Another question: what is the correct name for this series of light?

Thanks in advance!

I seem to remember the same question was asked just recently, but of course for my life can not find it in search. Combination of Surefire and thread gives a few hits as you can imagine!
Consider this a slight bump so someone who can locate the thread will hopefully jump in!

I don't have to imagine, I did it... yes, thread/6p/surefire seems to be a bit popular here. Thanks!
