This led work light looks like it has 3 high power Luxeon type emitters inside.
The web page is a bit short on details though.
cordless with a NimH battery pack inside the handle
Anyone seen how much light comes out of one of these babies?

guess I'd like to see some side-by-side pictures of how it lights up
the area under the hood compared to a standard/regular ac powered
work light.

i don't think those are 3w luxeons, i think they are those smt(?) leds like what they are using in brake lights and such. it probably puts out maybe 15-20lm with only three of those in there. cool idea though!

want to agree with you ambientmind. They're probably those half watt
sm's.
In an alternate universe there are 3 Cree's in it, draining the batteries at
maximun current for those roadside repairs when you really need light!

Why is'nt there a (fold out) hook on the bottom of all handhelds?

Funny you should say that (and it's a great idea).:twothumbs

There's a dirt cheap plastic 2AA incandescent Rayovac Industrial
flashlight that I picked up at Walmart for less than $5.
Guess what it has?

A fold out caribiner type hook in the tailcap.

By the way, it's a good host flashlight for one of those PR base LED
bulb upgrades.

thanks Bob.
The hook on this Hemipro work light made me think it'd be useful
if all my handhelds had a foldout hook. If you don't have a headlamp, a hook on your handheld would let you hang it rather than holding in the mouth.
