Here's a battery fire people are going to remember

A truck shipping lithium ion batteries caught fire shutting down a main corridor on the I-5 from L.A. to Las Vegas. Drivers are stranded in the desert. This happened yesterday.

Watched news footage up here in NorCal.
Couldn't have picked a busier traveled road for a hazmat situation.
They never said if firefighters used a foam or truck loads of sand to contain the burn?

Wow! Being stranded for fifteen hours or more in the desert. This is a good example of why you want to carry a be prepared kit in your car and never let it run below 1/4 tank of gas.

With that Lithium Fire it's like they should have had a way to get to the other side so people can at least get to a motel or an alternative route. Hopefully temps are not terrible.

I'm glad I stuck with NiMH and only buy Lithium ion devices I need (like a cellphone or power drill/impact wrench).
