How do I install a mica shield on a magcharger?

Can someone explain how to install a mica shield on a magcharger? I thought it went between the bulb and the socket, but if I put it there, it interferes with the plastic piece behind the lens. This pic kind of shows what I'm talking about.

You need to cut them into a round shape that fits ontp the pedestal and into the reflector tube with some nice sharp scissors.

I had the same dilemma when I first got mine, but the search function gave me the answer
