Right. So, I'm at a flea market in Nashville. Neat stuff there. anyhow. A vender was selling lights, and at the time I needed a good spotlight. I approached his booth and he greeted me, asking what I'd like to look at. He had a few cheap ones, a Garrity or two, but to the left of the others was a Maxabeam. I had no idea what it was at the time, but something about it said.. "Buy meee.. Buy meeee!!". It was 80$, which I considered atrocious for a light, but I ended up taking it home with me. I charged and attempted to turn it on, to no avail. Upon inspection, the bulb was broken! I knew something had to be wrong with it, always was that way with flea market stuffs. I looked it up on the internet and found, to my amazement, I'd come upon the deal of a lifetime. This was a 1,500 dollar light! I bought a replacement bulb, thinking I'd resell it after repair. I installed the bulb and just turned it on.. Just once.. Just to see what it was like. I pointed it at the stock barn, a few hundred feet away, something no flashlight I'd ever seen could even touch. I didn't think it would even come close to hitting it, even on spot. So I switched it on.
Oh.. My... Crackers.
A pillar of light that looked like something sent from heaven spilled forth, sparkling in it's beauty. It sliced through the night like a giant lightsaber of pure brilliance.. Its beam seemed to shimmer and ram the stock barn head on, like some kind of ray of steel spilling forth from this small searchlight. From that day forth, this light has served me valiently. I continued on to buy an Acro x990, Inova X5, and recently, Novatac 120P and Beast II. A flashaholic was born! I found these forums, and named my username in honor of this amazing light.
