Hey guys,

I was just wondering how to clean the outside of the lens on my Fenix L2D-CE? It gets a bit linty and dusty from my pocket.

Also what lube do I apply on the thread and o-rings of my Fenix?

Thanks in advance guys!

Robbie

I use a microfibre cloth for all glass and plastic lens cleaning and a silicon grease (for a swimming pool filter O-ring) on my threads and o-rings. There are lots of fancy and more expensive gimmicks around but I've been using this combo for about 4 years now and no problems yet!

I use a clean cotton cloth for the lens (often the bottom of my shirt...) and plumber's silicone grease for the threads. Of course as Greg says there's much more sophisticated products around, but....

BTW do you think that a tailor-made shirt will better clean the lens?:lolsign:

Try "Superlube" for the threads/O-rings.

It's a 100% synthetic grease, it won't cause plastic/rubber parts to deteriorate like some petroleum based oils/grease will.

Here in the states you can get it at any Walmart fishing department, sold as "Laker Reel Grease and Reel Oil". It's about $4 and some change for a package with a bottle of each.

+1 on the Superlube...I bought a 3 oz. tube at Harbor Freight for about $3, which is enough to last several lifetimes if used solely on flashlights. I bought it on the recommendation of Quickbeam on his website (http://flashlightreviews.com) and you're not going to find a better recommendation (or source of knowledge) than that! :twothumbs

BTW, welcome to CPF robbied & mrmike!
