Review up with 14500, 16340 and AA runtimes since it also fits the C-LE AA tube. Enjoy :)

An update to the runtime for low mode.
The Eneloop AA cell which i used for low must have been faulty. I have since updated the review with the new runtimes. It shows proper performance with AA on low now :)

I've just finished a runtime with CR123 on high, will update once i've finished with medium and low modes as well.

My head will not fit on my Jet Beam AA. Threads are different.

Left, Hyperion CE-R. Right, Jet Beam CL-E.

This is the version Jet Beam CL-E I have. Top, Hyperion CE-R. Bottom, Jet Beam CL-E

I guess your's must be the C-LE V1.0 then?
The body I tested on was from a C-LE v1.2 [edited], threads were identical and fit perfectly.

In this picture the Hyperion has course threads and the C-LE fine threads. The C-LE tube might fit physically, but not properly. The threads on one or the other could get damaged.

Is there visible PWM flicker under any circumstances?

To those that are very sensitive for PWM flickering, there is still a little flickering on low, but it's not noticeable in practical use.

No flickering on med, and no PWM on high.

mine measured :

med: 312Hz
low: 312Hz
high: no PWM
strobe: 7,6Hz

I have the Hyperion and the Jetbeam C-LE-1.0

The Heads are not interchangeable, same reason as above, different threads.

Good review, x2x3x2. Thanks for pointing out that the Hyperion CE-R head fits the Jetbeam C-LE v1.2. I'm glad I killed my Jetbeam because now I can use the tube and run both AA and 14500 with the CE-R. This thing has way too many battery options:

1 x CR123A primary with 123 body
1 x RCR123 3.0v with 123 body
1 x RCR123 3.7v with 123 body
1 x AA primary with C-LE AA body
1 x AA rechargeable with C-LE AA body
1 x 14500 with C-LE AA body

Amazingly, all modes work with every option!
