For those of you wanting to insulate your hotwire for:
-extended runtimes with a hotdriver
-reduced bezel temperatures to minimize risk of burns
-possibly keeping Li-ion cells cooler while running
I would like to recommend that you purchase some high temperature insulation. You can order some high temperature ceramic fiber insulation here for only $3.80. It can cost as little as $5.87 after shipping with USPS 1st class! This product is a little thin at only 1/8", but you can coil a strip of it around in a spiral to build up greater thicknesses.
