My Malkoff M60 MC-E arrived in the mail today. I opened it up, and put it in my Surefire 6P. I pressed the switch, and OH BOY! 500 lumens of Malkoff goodness! It puts out more light than any flashlight I own. And talk about a smooth beam! Perfect. The tint is a very nice white, maybe just a hint on the blue side of the spectrum.
This thing makes my trusty old Surefire L4 (Lux V) look silly in terms of brightness and tint. The L4 is much dimmer and greener in comparison. And I always thought my L4 was really bright. The MC-E will be replacing my L4 on my belt when I'm at work.
I also ordered one of Malkoff's VME heads, so I think I might try to put the MC-E on the L4 body. That'll keep the whole thing a bit thinner. That should arrive soon.
Also in the package today was an M60-LL. I put it in my Surefire G2L. It's almost exactly the same brightness as the original Surefire LED module, but with a bit tighter of a spot, and should have a much longer runtime at maximum brightness to boot! It seems to be about the best light for general use.
If anyone is on the fence wondering if they should buy the Malkoff M60 MC-E (or any other Malkoff drop-in, for that matter) go for it! You won't regret it. They really do live up to the hype. And they're American made, which is another bonus.
Gene and Cathy, you rock! Keep up the good work!
Now I just can't wait for it to get dark outside!
