So how does the Total Light Output of your PKEF3B-5K and U2 comapre with you HD45 XX1T?

All subjective of course:

Total Light Output
U2 > HD45 XX1T > PKEF (U2 and HD45 very close)

Throw
HD45 XX1T > PKEF > U2 (PKEF and U2 very close)

Keep in mind, I don't have my HD45 anymore :ohgeez: .

Great pictures indeed.

Very nice and expensive collection... now all you need is the missing link to the XTN M6... the battery. :) Me too.

The clicky tailcap on the PKEF looks totally different than the one on the U2. Has it broken yet? -_- Maybe it's a new and improved model!

That's a very special clicky you are talking about there. It's a two-stage momentary for the secondary light functions (red/blue/low-white - controlled by variable selector ring- and high-white momentary if you depress further) and click-on for constant high-white. It also acts as a twisty if you want to engage the secondary light functions (red/blue/low-white) with the constant-on click.

Pretty advanced, huh?

After a manual and Google search this looks like the thread to post. My -A arrived today, and the switch action is interesting. With the tail cap bottomed-out:

Light press: red or green LEDS depending on ring setting. (momentary)
Press harder: red or green plus the 5W. (momentary)
Press harder and "click:" colered LEDs plus 5W latched on.
Click again: everybody off.

Here's where it gets interesting. Back the tailcap off one turn:

Light press: colored LEDs depending on front ring setting- red or green. (momentary)
Press harder: colored LEDs plus 5W. (momentary like above)
Press harder and "click:" just the colored LEDs on.
Click again: everybody off.

Back-off the tailcap another 1/4 turn:

Light press: colored LEDs. (momentary)
Press harder: "click," and sustained color LEDs. (No 5W)
Click again: Off.

Backing the tail cap off a full two turns from solid:

Lockout.

Eeenteresting. :D

Yep! :) Love mine. Switch is easy to manipulate once you get over that learning curve.

Edit: The "plot" thickens further! Someone at the Phoenix get-together pointed out that the forward, LED selector ring has three positions. (Center off.) With the colored LEDs turned off:

Tailcap all the way on:

Light press: 5W low beam.
Press harder: 5w hi beam.
Click: Hi beam sustained.

With the tailcap backed out ~270 deg:

Light press: 5W low beam.
Click: Low beam sustained.

At 180deg from solid:

Light press: 5W lo beam
Press harder: 5W hi beam.
Click: Low beam sustained.

Who needs a steenkin microcontroller!

Wave_Particle, I'm going to have to report you to the authorities. There's no way that torchporn like that could be legal.

Great Stuff WP

Great new addition - Great Photos - Makes me want one even more - Hmmm

Great M6-XTN - actually didn't spot it was an XTN at first - yours is a really good match and I'm so used to mine now I can't remember what a stubby looks like. See you chose the tail-most position for your lanyard ring - found mine again and quite like the mid body-XTN position at the moment.

Anyway back to the subject - Luvvin the PKEF

Pete
