The beam could be so much better, brightness could be up a notch. But all is forgiven since it's cute. (FYI, my unit has a CREE XR-E Q2-WN)
So I figured since I had 2, and Tempest UK says that it can handle li-ions, I decided to stick my 14500 in there!
It worked fine and wow'ed everyone until one day my friend was playing with my MODUS in the car. She kept switching it on and off and suddenly I realized that it is so dim. Worse is that it stop changing modes! *gasp!* My MODUS driver is fried!!
So of course... without further ado (why ado? I dun get it).. Introducing, hailing from USA (but made in China), with it's super cute all plastic body..

Ok this thing generates far more light and less heat than the XR-E did. Awesome!

Beam is now very round and quite free from artifacts. Donut in the middle is ~5% less bright than the brightest part of the beam. LOVE the gradual spill transition. Man I love OPTICS!
