Just received my green ICON Rogue 1.

First impressions:

I love the colour!
It really is a nice yellow greeny colour :twothumbs

The size!
I expected it to be fairly large, from the pics I have seen... but it is still suprising!
Almost the size of a 6P :faint:

It is made very well!
Nice and solid, the thread are nice and clean, LED is centered.
The colour is consistent, and all of the logos and writing is nice and even.
It does need to be lubed however.

It is just past 11am so I obviously will have trouble testing out the light right now  however I just did my usual daytime testing of going in the garage and having a look around, and I can say that this is a great little light for carrying around.
It has a nice amount of spill and a nice hotspot, with no rings!
Running off 1AA, it is a great light.

The size is big enough to get a good grip, yet small enough to be convinent for your pocket.

Here are some pics!

Nice pics !
And yes, I agree. Nice light with a very clever driver for the Average Joe. Really well thought out.

Is your color balance off or do they now offer a golden variant?

In the past I have tried to give my non-flashaholic son a light to use for fishing for times when he needed a little more than his headlamp, and they have always come back with, "It's nice but......" There was always something like the 123 battery was too expensive, too small or big, just not right.

I handed my son my new Icon with the lanyard attached told him to put it on and throw it in his shirt pocket, and that night while shore fishing with him I saw that the light was getting used more often. He finally came up to me and said, "Nice light, can I keep it?" That's when I knew the Icon was a keeper (well, for him anyway) For him it's perfect as the light is rarely on for more the 10 minutes, and the throw of the beam is just right to light up his path as he changes locations on the rocks.

Got a fishing buddy you want to get a gift for? The Icon is a best bet.

Definitely a neat light with a funky design. I'm not crazy about the logo on the head, but the rest of it is very original and creative (even if that means being bulkier than average).

Make me one without the head logo and I'd buy it. . .

I have been using one as my EDC for 4+ months..im on my second one because I gifted my first to a friend that was going to iraq and did not have a backup light

Thanks for the comments everybody

Kiessling, the pictures are a very close representation of colour, my white balance was set to daytime, so there is a little more yellow showing... but only so slightly!

I found mine on Ebay, however if you are in the US, battery junction have them... I'm not sure of other places, because none would send to Australia anyway

ohh i see, from the packaging it looks like something you would find on the store shelves..maybe in the future it will be...Thanks for the reply!

Yeah I'm pretty sure the intention of the ICON range was to get into the commercial market, hence the AA battery, simplicity and packaging!

yea def! hopefully they'll make a smaller one for the average person's pocket or purse. and a larger one for throw...

I have both the Rogue 1 and 2 and the lights are awesome! I really like how they feel in your hand and the powerful beem that it puts out. Probably the best LED I have seen in a light - although not the most powerful, but very pure LED. Get one of these and compare it to any other light (even INOVA) and the LED is better!
