Ignoramus Question - Peak Kino Bay. Opt for Luxeon or P4?

This is a single AA light, which is attractive from the viewpoint of buy-em-anywhere-cheap cells. Peak lists it with either a Luxeon or P4. I love Peak lights - they're simple, elegant from an engineering standpoint, and rock solid. Yep, I do want the single output level. But I'm not totally up on emitters. I suspect I want P4. Enlighten me as to why or why not!

The p4 is a newer and more efficient led than the Luxeon and you want the p4 other things being equal. They are offering some big discounts to close out the old stock of luxeons so maybe the savings will sway you.

I think the kino bay never really caught on though, apparently because of its electronic circuit. The Pacific was better received although it's much more mechanically complicated.
