This winter's project was to add insulation and a radiant barrier in the attic. Took it from R19 to R70 of insulation, plus whatever the barrier did (which I can literally feel the effect in the attic).

Quite an amazing difference, but the AC still kicks in when it is 110 outside.

That's hot (Paris Hilton)
I can't stand the heat so that's one of the reasons I moved to the coast last year (Santa Cruz, Ca)
Yesterday it was 95 degrees a 40 minute drive east of here and 109+ degrees an hours + drive east of here.
Here in Santa Cruz? a very nice 68 degrees......aaaaahhhhh!

If I ever move to California, now I know where to live.

I was taking a walk after midnight as I like to do after a hot day. When I started the air was warm and still. As I got to my turn around spot I got hit with a blast of cold wind. I was shivering on the way home as the trees were swaying back and forth. I checked the wind speed when I got home and it read 15 mph. What a contrast in weather in just a couple of minutes.
