The two lines seem very similar and similarly priced, and I can't figure out why AE has two lines of HID lights. I had a PL24 and now I have a Xenide 20W Shorty. Aside from size (the PL24 was pretty big, the Xenide Shorty isn't hugely larger than a 3D Mag) and the runtimes enforced by sheer battery size, there doesn't much difference.

Well, OK - the Xenide has a forward mounted switch, which I like a lot better than the tail switch of the PL24.

The PowerLight series is older, while the Xenide series is the newer line. The Xenide series seems to have a higher lumens to watt ratio, as well as being more efficient and compact. AE is coming out with a new set of HID's, check out my other post.
