I did this light as a custom retrofit for a customer and decided
to share the results with you all

Here is the original sales thread for the Chimera Mini:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=226554

The cost for the Ipod Shuffle 4gig and installation into a Chimera Mini is 150$.
This price is in addition to the base price of the Chimera Mini at 425$

You get all the accessories that come with the ipod including:
Usb Adapter, Headphones, Clear case, And instructions on how to
you the ipod functions.

The Only function that will not be available to change is the Shuffle/Repeat/Off button.
I have installed that Inside the light for sake of water resistance.
I can leave it on Shuffle or Repeat at your request. That option is still
adjustable if you open up the light by removing the 9 screws and flipping
the switch to select what you want. The ipod shuts off after you pause
or unplug the headphones. Charging of the internal Chimera Mini
battery is now handled by the ipod itself. The charge time from a dead
battery is about 12hrs. But the runtime of the ipod has increased from
10hrs to 80hrs due to the larger than stock battery. Bot the light And the
ipod can run from the same battery simultaneously if you choose.

The Play/Pause/Volume/Track changing is done with the ipod remote that
is builtin to the factory ipod headphones.

On to the pictures!!

Completed and working Ipod/Flashlight

Robert, you are going to need a bigger brain to contain all of these ideas of yours. Very, very interesting. Nicely done.
