IQ Switch for Surefire E-Series

That's kinda cool. Could be interesting, but the description says "Incandescent bulb flashlights Only" (why would that be? I would expect the opposite.) and "Not designed for continuous operation". Odd. Silly gee whiz marketing writing too. "This scientific technique is based on the scientific discovery by scientists that eyes use light and it's dark at night." Golly; science, IQ, rhodopsin, perpetrators, it must be good! :):):)

It seems that strobing an incandescent that fast would significantly shorten the life. I wonder why it doesn't work with LEDs. It seems that if anything it wouldn't work with incans.

It might not work with LEDs if the LED's boost circuitry does not pass enough current when it's "off".

All switches of this type need to have a + and - battery connection to run their electronics. The electrical path goes through the bulb, but the current is so low (when off) that the bulb does not glow at all.

The Niteze IQ switch has the same problem with some lights. On others, it allows enough current to make the LEDs barely glow when off.

So most LED regulators will cut off current completely, so shutting off the strobe and the tailswitch goes to off mode, "forgetting" to turn back on? Sounds like they just need to have a small capacitor on board to power the electrics less than 1/7 of a second to make it work in everything. Silly not to do that and sell it to the expanding LED market too.
I was all excited (as MANY were) about the NiteIze IQ switch ...until it's problems were revealed by the first testers.
