Is my HID battery going bad?

Hi all!

I recently upgraded the HID bulb in my light and was doing a "Burn in" of the bulb and noticed that it's only giving me 20 minutes burn time, is the battery going bad? It's a 4.2 Ah SLA powering a 35W HID.

I think I read somewhere that a running 35W HID consumes around 3-4 amps so theoretically my battery should last me at least 50 minutes right?

I am having a similar problem with my AEX20. And I'm on my second battery. So now I have a $400 brick!

Well there's your problem, that crappy sla is probly only giving you <2ah under load.

Yeah your probably right, I'm going to find something better, do you know if a laptop 14.8v 6600mah battery can take the startup current?. I have been seeing some go cheap on ebay.
