I was using it last night during a power outage. I had it on for a few seconds, while I roamed the house and then turned it off once I made it to a candle lit room. Turned it back on a few minutes later and nothing. I started investigating and realized that the LED was lit, but almost imperceptibly. It would also cycle through the modes, but like I said, it was putting out zero light. The only way I know it was working was that the LED glowed ever so slightly. I tried three different brand new batteries, cleaned the threads and the connections, and still nothing. Anyone know what the problem might be or what I should do? I have quite a few Fenix lights, and have never had a problem so I am not sure the best route to take if I need warranty work? Any advice or help is appreciated. Thanks.

That does not sound too good if you have tried fresh batteries and cleaned the contacts, it seems like the light could have had its day. Was it the R100 version?

Tony,

No, not the R100 version. This one was a premium Cree Q5 version. I have contacted the dealer I bought it from (lighthound) and they said they are more than happy to take care of it. I have come to expect excellent service from Lighthound, and this situationi s no different. Can't say enough about how good they are.

what other lights do you have? if you have an L1D or L2D, you can swap the heads and see if the same thing happens. If you get the same results on another body, it's the circuit board in the head. If so, what cells are you using?

If it works fine on another Fenix body, then it's your tail cap like gunner says.

:)

Don't have an L1D or L2D. I have an L1P, 3 P1's, a P1D, etc. but nothing compatable with the P2D had. Hadn't thought about the retaining ring. I'll check it out. I am using standard Surefire 123A's. I also tried a standard Energizer 123A with the same result. Thanks.
