Is the Fenix P1D Q5 really as bright as the P2D Q5?

Curious, is it really as bright? Anyone have both that can confirm this? BOth are rated 180 lumens but the one P1D unit I tried was noticeably dimmer than all the other P2Ds I compared it to. Still a great light for the size, but not as bright.

Thanks,
Mo

I have both; indoors they're exactly the same, no way to tell the difference between the two, same hotspot, corona, spill, throw, output (though the Cree Donut on my P2 has a very slight warm tint to it compared to my P1), it's only when I take them outside that the P2 has a notable edge in throw. Lighting objects 40-50 meters away I can tell which the P2 by it's slightly brighter profile.

So indoors they're the same, outdoors the P2 has a slight edge :)

They're both Q5s, and both textured reflectors. Ran both on new batteries. And I compared the the two on Max/Turbo, as the OP question was about brightness. (I own a P4 P1D, you can tell by eye that it's not the Q5.)

I was going to attribute the P2s slight gain to a deeper reflector, as the P2 has a longer head assembly than the P1, but comparing them side-by-side, they both appear to have the exact same reflector (the P2D Rebel has a deeper reflector). So my guess would be that there's a 5-10% brightness difference that isn't perceptible outside of a long-distance throw test.

My P2D Q5 is tad brighter vs my P1D CE Q5.
