Is the WE Raider more "upgradeable" than the WE Sniper?

I still have not made the deciscion between these two, but am about ready to pull the trigger. I was just wondering if in the future, will the Raider 9A offer me more lamp options than the sniper when the new crees and other bulbs come out. Will the Raider have brighter lamps coming out for it?

Brightness will be the same for the Raider and the Sniper if you are thinking about the LED option. Run-time will be ~1.5x longer with the Raider because of the bigger battery capacity.

However with incans, the Raider is more flexible than the Sniper, offering you the option of running the same bulb on 2 x 18500 Li-Ions or 3 x CR123A primaries. The incan option will up to twice as bright as any LED, but run-time will be a lot shorter.

Well, if size is not critical than as above, the Raider is more versatile than the Sniper. My favourite combination in the Raider is 2x 18500 cells with LF EO-9 lamp and the LED tailcap. Sometimes I use my WE Cree HO 3.7 - 13V lamp in the Raider with the same 2x 18500 cells, I just have to reverse the polarity of the cells. (the LED tailcap wont work but the Cree lamp will)

I perfer the sniper. You can run the 168A or 2x 123s with the cree.
Its quite a bit smaller then the raider.D26 sniper can fit in a pocket easy..not so much the raider.

As for runtime, 2 hours ( high) has always been enough for me.

ATM the sniper has more options.

Sniper or raider with my diffuser material is a L4 killer:thumbsup:

Raider + Lumens Factory lamps = killer combination.

I swear, everyday I pick either the Raider with E09 bulb, or the Sniper Cree. I almost wish they would just stop making one to make my life easier.

Fast Car.. have you tried your diffuser material with one of the incan lights like the raider?

By the way, is the only difference between the 9T Raider and the 9a Raider the LED tail cap?

Is size even a consideration?
If you don't care about the size then consider the Rattlesnake M90, since you have the option of going Cree or Lumens factory incandescent lamps.
It's longer with a larger bezel, but the options are really good. The perfect lego light for the price.

Yes tried the diffuser material on a 6a 9a 13v , m*gs, various Streamlight stinkers.Works great on em all.If its LED, incan,HID or a laser it works .

I will not be carrying this light with me everywhere. Its either going to be used at work or at home. That said, I do not want something the size of the rattlesnake. The raider is about as large as I would like.

The raider with the EO-9 and LED tail cap is my favorite light.

Raider 9T it is then. Just placed the order....Hopefully I won't regret not getting the Sniper Cree.

No drama, later on just get the WE Cree HO 3.7 - 13V lamp for the Raider, turn the batteries around and thats it..........(when using the Cree lamp the LED's in the tailcap will not work)

Good decision IMO - as cernobila says, you can get a Wolf-Eyes Cree drop-in for it later if you want - it just goes in like any other lamp assembly.
