is there ANY way to fit a SSC P7-C (quad-core LED) into a pocket flashlight?

i used to have a Ultrafire WF-1200L, the 800-900 lumens SSC P7D

it's fantastic! but problem is any other brand flashlight with SSC P7 are so big in size.

i wonder if there is a smaller mod of those 'Quad-Core' led that can fit into a standard pocket size flashlight, such as the Ultrafire WF-503B

because if u think about it, the small hole at the bottom of the reflector can be drilled bigger for the led to fit in, and the circut base don't really have to be that big right? there is gotta be a way...

if u know how or where to buy.. let me know! :p

Yeah , you can build a SSC P7 drop in no problems ....
Or buy one ...

It is possible. Here is an example of 17500 sized flashlight. Some others members of CPF managed to put P7 even in smaller flashlighht, for example 10440 powered. Of course, P7 can't be pushed to the full potential in such a small package.

You can chek out the mod section on cpf to see plenty of examples how to build this yourself. Also cree MCE dropins (also a quad die led) for lights like the 503B can be found on many places... here for example.

Also don't think that a light with that small of a reflector will have any decent throw. The WF1200 with it's 4x larger reflector is what makes lights like those throw well. In something like a 6P sized host, the light will be almost all flood (the lumens will help with throw over say, a 200 lumen drop-in, but it will still be considered a flood light in my opinion).

i know your asking about P7, but personally i'd chose an xpg over p7 for small form factor. it'll be really bright, and have much better runtime than p7.

Forget the P7...go for an XPG light. IT will be very bright, and you can actually use one for a long while before it overheats. Try the Dereelight C2H. 200 lumens- and can use AA or cr123 with the $6 adapter.

The WF-503B is a P60 host. So any D26 drop in with an MCE will fit. Go for a multi mode module though to keep emitter temperatures down. With all the new XPG drop ins out now, I think thats a better way to go. Almost just as bright, but only consuming 50% of the current and generating less heat in the process.

There are tons of 1x18650 P7s on DX. If you get one with a non-assault bezel with a small head, then they would work just fine as a pocket flashlight, I would think.

My XTAR with 1x18650 is pretty small; around 6 inches long or less. On DX, look up P7, then check the measurements on the 1x18650 lights. Note though that they won't be driven as hard as a 2x18650, but they will still be plenty bright.
