Is this add wrong

I was looking at this add on the web for MX Power 1w AA Torch, infact I've got one of these torches myself but the add says the following "fitted with a Nichia Luxeon bulb from Japan" I thought the word Luxeon was actually a trademark name from Philips Lumileds and belongs to that company or am I wrong here.

That add is wrong, and you are right. Lumileds LLC is based from Silicone Valley Ca. and has plants in Malaysia, China, and the US.
