I just received my Jet-Pro I WC R2 from Bug Out Gear CPF Special

Shipping is the usual very fast from BOG.

Fit is excellent.

The Type III Hard Anodize has some flaws. I have a horizontal line by the Jet-Pro printing on the battery tube along with a small dot of the Type III Hard Anodize missing.

AW Protected 14500 fit with ample room with the label on the battery.

Screwing on the rear tail cap only took about 1.5 turns. It was noticeable to me because all my other lights take way more turns to put on the rear clickie.

The beam is off center.

The tint on the beam is a nice white. When cycling through the light levels and finding a level you like it takes about 1 second and you the beam shuts off and turns on. That means the level is locked in when you turn the light on again.

Low seems low enough to me but I guess there are other out there that want a lower low.

These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using AW's Protected 14500's.

These are outdoor beam shots @ 32'.

The camera is set to manual.

In real life low setting there is a little more side spill and a brighter center beam which the Digtal Camera has a hard time picking up.

That's a nice looking light! Great review as usual, with some excellent photos.

Is it me or are the Q5's putting out better numbers then the r2?

I noticed some of your reviews on a Rav4 forum. Is that you, or is it your twin brother. :)

The Jet-II Q5 is putting out more light.

Jet-Pro I WC R2 - 3260 lux @ 1 meter (High)

Jet-II Q5 V1 - 4070 lux @ 1 meter

The stepped down exposure really shows the difference.

I remember reading Jet Beam turned down the brightness because the head would heat up very fast.

Yes that's me on Rav 4 World.

I was wondering if you were taking requests to add some other outdoor shots for comparison? Such as.

Fenix P3D or T1
Olight T10,T15 or a T20?
Or any other light you feel would make a worthy competitor.

I noticed that my Jet-I Pro is very finicky when switching between modes. Sometimes it goes advanced, sometimes not. Sometimes it goes into memory, and other times it doesn't. I've tried all types of batteries, all with a full charge. Nothing seems to be consistent. Hopefully I hear back/get it figured out.

I also took lux readings of these lights. These are the lux readings I got. I am using a Meterman LM631 Light Meter measured at 1 meter. I waited 2 minutes before taking the readings. I am using a Ultrafire Unprotected 14500 in the Olight T15 Q5. I used AW's Protected 14500 in the Nitecore Defender Infinity Q5 and Jet-Pro I WC R2 to take lux readings.

The Ultrafire Unprotected 14500 is the only 14500 that will fit in the Olight T15 Q5.

Do you consider the low on the Jetbeam to be too bright if you don't feel like lighting up a whole room?

A 60 lumen low doesn't sound like a very useful low. Sometimes I think my T15 Q5 low is too bright, so I either grab a P3D for its lower low or just deal with it.

on the other picture with diffuser, the o-ring is visible.

if ever can you check submerging at least 5mins in water?

If you're talikng about the tailcap o-ring, sorry I didn't tighten the cap all the way. The cap tightens and the o-ring is not visible.

IMO my light in low seems low enough for me.

The T15 Q5 low seems to be a little brighter than my Jet-Pro I WC R2 in low.

Comparsion pictures of the 3 different R Bins I have. One is WC R2 the other 2 are WH R2's.

Hi Ernie

:kewlpics: as always! Looks great, thanks for the extra comparisons.

My views on the output and build of the light would seem to match yours, as usual.

Cheers!
