I can't seem to find a single review for this flashlight. Are there any? I'm interested in some beamshots and runtime graphs.

There are no reviews, I have asked for it in this thread too.

But there are some informations in the lightreviews.info forum, that lots of pieces came defect. So I would say, this light might be a looser. :thumbsdow

Hummm.....Looks like a flashlight to stay away from. Thanks, CandleFranky.

I have two and really like them. I run them on 14500's, and Ni-mh at times. I've called them "what the C-LE should have been" in the past. They are twice as much, though.

Not throwers, but no slouches in the brightness department. The clicky is the same (I think) as the one found in the C-LE v2. I don't mind the switch at all, but think there is room for improvement.

Maybe they aren't too popular because you can get a Fenix P2D for less money and they are brighter and smaller?

You can get the JetBeam MkII-R for $46 on Ebay (hkequipment) with registered shipping. The same shop is selling the brandnew JetBeam Jet-I Pro with R2 bin for $75. Take this one if you need throw, 240 lumens and a unique design. This light does not have a real low mode (60 lumens) and eats batteries in medium mode. But nevertheless, it's a great light.

But if 120 lumens are enough for you, then get the Fenix L1D Q5 for $60 at Fenix-Store.com, which is build like a tank and have usable modes, which goes down to around 10 lumens -> my favorite EDC. :twothumbs

The MkII-R never seemed to really catch on here, given some early QC issues (and lower output than expected, as I recall).

I haven't seen one in person, but overall build seems to be similar to the original Cree P4 version, the MkII-X. I compared that light to its other P4 competitors way back in my first AA round-up here.

I doubt the runtimes would be very comparable though, given the supposed circuit changes.

In a coincidental moment, I just ordered a MKIIr from that exact ebay seller, for that price. I'll report how that goes.

Despite the clumbsy UI (which some dislike, I've come to accept it), I've always been a big fan of the MKIIx (and similiar Dexlight X.1). They are my favorite "gadget" lights.

I've always wanted a MKIIr to see how their new circuit performs, but the >$70 pricetag left me cold. When I found it for $46 shipped, I bit.

If it's close to the MKIIx 14500 performance with better (and regulated) runtime, I'll be happy. I'm just hoping these ebay units aren't QC rejects.

I doubt the runtimes would be very comparable though, given the supposed circuit changes.

Let me know if you would be interested in including a MKIIr in your next roundup. I'd submit mine as a sample (assuming it's not a dud).

How can the P2D be more brighter when the Lumens on the MKIIR is 180 Lumens where as the P2D is 175 Lumens.

Don't be afraid! I have ordered my Jet I Pro there and got no problems. Ask hkequipment for a function check before they send the light, because there really seems to be some QC problems with the "R"-version in the past. Tell us how it goes ...

I don't believe that the MK II R can produce 180 lumens. JetBeam tends to exaggerate. :mecry:

My MKIIR is a little bit brighter than my 5 mode C3's. Say, 120 lumen to their 100. 180 lumen is a gross exaggeration. Considering that the UF 5 mode C3 is $20.63, even at $46, the JB MIIR is way overpriced.

I think that the obvious here is that there have been no reviews even though two CPF members were selected by JetBeam to do so. Charging 80 bucks for a 25 buck light doesn't go over really well and would come out in a review.

Silence and the fact that no one's ever run out of the MIIR speaks for itself.

i refocused the JB MK3 and my Jet 1 pro and the results are nice - less rings and wider hotspot to boot

5 days later --> Surprise, surprice: Now the price is $65 shipped, $20 up in 5 days. Was JetBeam once again angry about the former cheap price??? It seems. :ohgeez:

Now we have a Jetbeam MKII-R review --> LightReviews.info. My opinion: This light is NOT worth $67. :thumbsdow

From that review:

1x AA 2000mAh Eneloop 100% 00:49 to 50% 5% 04:07 to 50%

OMG WTH.

I'll reserve final comments until I actually get the light, but the LR.info review seems to show pretty pathetic performance.

1) Overall brightness on 14500 is not very good
2) Runtime on LOW is terrible

I guess I'll chalk this purchase up to a bad whim. I wonder if I can cancel my order with HKequipment. I just read up on the new R2 JB, sounds like that one has similarly poor performance on low. WTH is up with Jetbeam these days?
