Just running off the math lets take a look. If it is truly pulling 5w that is very close to the P60, the P60 is 5.1w. Now I would guess with regulation (I'm pretty sure the KL4 is regulated) I would add about another .5w so maybe 5.5w total. So if that is the case my guess is we are looking at right about 1 hour total. It also depends on where the low voltage cutoff is.
So my GUESS would be between 50 and 60 min, similar to the A2?

SF will probably underdrive the KL4. Bill

Thats what I'm guessing too.
Underdrive it to play the "longer battery life" marketing angle.
One of my buddies got to play with a proto last week. He said it was very impressive.

Yah seriously! I'm getting hella antsy waiting for this thang. I must be the last multi-SF owner who doesn't actually own an E2/E2e. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'm waiting for the KL4 to be my excuse to get one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I am reasonably certain that the KL4 is a boost circuit only. 3x123 will be over Vf and the KL4 will be in Hawaiian "Give 'em Bra" mode, A.K.A. Mr. B's DD.
I also believe the KL4 will be driven at over 90% of spec and un attended run time tests will likely provide you with a soup warmer.
So, KL5 will be for 9P, C type lights, and could run with two or three 123's. Remember, KL1 was similar circuity to KL3, and could run 2 or 3 123's. Maybe KL4,5 will be similar and both able to run 3 123's. Bill
